Kaimiška bread
Description

Bread is the inheritance of the Lithuanian nation. Bread baking was a special duty for every housewife and young housewives used to wait until they’ll be a certain age to serve the first loaf of bread for their family. Bread baking was a responsible and hard work. Today we can be glad that there is no need to mix up dough the night before because we can buy a fine loaf of dark bread from “Lašų duona” bakery which is famous for bread baking traditions.

Kaimiška bread is traditional, natural Lithuanian bread. We bake it from rye, wheat flour. This bread reminds of the old times: it is baked in large loaves, its taste and flavour of caraway is especially strong. This dark bread suits for both breakfasts and supper and every bite of it will remind you of the warmth of home.
